Tangem Pay connects a virtual Visa card to a USDC balance inside the Tangem Wallet app. The Tangem Pay Card is available in the United States and selected countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. UK and EEA access should not be assumed from future rollout language.

This is not a no-KYC hardware-wallet card. Tangem Wallet remains self-custodial, but Tangem Pay is a separate regulated payment account with identity verification. Users pre-fund that account with native USDC on Polygon, then card purchases settle in US dollars through Visa.

How Tangem Pay Works

The current card is virtual-only. It can be used online or added to Apple Pay and Google Pay for contactless payments. Tangem says physical cards and spending rewards are later-phase features, so Defimap does not count them as current benefits.

The narrow funding model is both the product's strength and its limitation. Users do not need to move their main hardware-wallet portfolio into an exchange, but the payment account supports only native USDC on Polygon. Sending another token or using the wrong network can result in loss.

Fees, Limits And Regions

Tangem lists no monthly fee, transaction fee or virtual card issuance fee. Polygon gas applies when funding the payment account, and non-USD purchases can include Visa foreign-exchange and cross-border charges.

The app allows a custom daily spending limit up to $50,000, subject to eligibility and program restrictions. ATM withdrawals are currently unavailable. Merchant-category restrictions can also apply, so broad Visa acceptance does not mean every transaction type is supported.

Tangem Pay currently lists the US and selected LATAM, APAC, MEA and African countries. Users still need to confirm their country and, in the US, state eligibility during onboarding.

Who It Fits

Tangem Pay fits users who already use Tangem Wallet, hold USDC on Polygon and want a virtual card without moving their full portfolio into a centralized exchange. Compare it with MetaMask Card, Gnosis Pay Card, MiniPay Card and other self-custody crypto cards.

Pros

  • Good:the payment balance remains separate from the main hardware-wallet portfolio.
  • Good:the current fee model has no monthly, transaction or virtual issuance fee.
  • Good:Apple Pay and Google Pay make the virtual card usable in stores.

Cons

  • Watch:KYC is required for the regulated payment account.
  • Watch:only native USDC on Polygon is supported for funding.
  • Watch:ATM withdrawals and physical cards are not currently available.

Bottom Line

Tangem Pay is a specific product, not a generic spend-any-asset hardware-wallet card. It works best for users who accept KYC, already understand Polygon USDC and want a virtual Visa linked to a separated self-custodial balance. Verify country eligibility, mobile-wallet support, FX charges and the exact token contract before funding it.

Pros

  • Good: Strong self-custody story
  • Good: No monthly, transaction or virtual card issuance fee is listed
  • Good: Good fit for Tangem wallet users

Cons

  • Watch: Virtual-only product
  • Watch: USDC on Polygon focus is narrow
  • Watch: No tracked cashback program

Bottom line

Tangem Pay Card belongs on the shortlist only if its fees, regions, funding flow and KYC rules match how you plan to spend. Check the provider page before moving funds.
