Crypto.com Visa Card is one of the cards that helped make crypto spending feel mainstream. It has been visible for years, and many users still think of it first when comparing exchange-linked crypto cards. That recognition matters, but it should not replace careful review of the current terms.

This review covers the prepaid or account-funded Crypto.com Visa Card. It does not cover the newer US Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card, which is a separate credit product with underwriting, APR terms and Bitcoin or CRO rewards.

The card is best understood as a prepaid platform card. It is connected to the Crypto.com app and must be loaded or funded under the rules for the user's market. A user is not choosing a conventional bank debit card or the separate US credit product.

For some users, that is convenient. For others, it is a reason to compare self-custody or lighter fintech alternatives.

Current Level Up Structure

Crypto.com now frames benefits around Basic, Plus, Pro and Private Level Up plans, while regional fee tables still use legacy card colors such as Midnight, Ruby, Jade, Icy and Obsidian. The current Level Up page advertises up to 4.5% prepaid-card rewards, not the older generic 5% rate previously stored by Defimap.

The headline rate is not the entry-level experience. Rewards depend on plan, eligible spending and market. Paid subscriptions or CRO lockups can affect both benefits and issuance costs, so the annual net value should be calculated after the plan commitment.

The card also benefits from Visa acceptance, which makes it easier to understand where it can be used once issued. The more difficult question is whether your region, account level and fee profile make it the right card.

Regional Fees And The US Example

KYC is required. That is expected for a major exchange-linked Visa product. Users searching specifically for no-KYC cards should look elsewhere.

Crypto.com maintains separate fee tables for the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Australia and several other markets. Importing one country's limits into another account is unreliable.

The current US schedule illustrates the tier effect:

  • free monthly ATM allowances range from $200 to $1,000; further withdrawals cost 2%.
  • debit-card top-ups cost 1%, credit-card top-ups 2.99% and PayPal top-ups 2.1%.
  • Midnight and Ruby physical issuance can cost $4.99 or $29.99 depending on plan history, while higher-tier terms differ.
  • Midnight through Jade or Indigo charge 3% on non-USD purchases and ATM withdrawals; higher tiers waive the provider foreign-transaction fee.
  • an inactivity fee applies after 12 months without cardholder-initiated financial activity.

Those are US examples, not universal global terms. The live regional table should control the decision.

Who It Fits

Crypto.com Visa Card fits users who already use Crypto.com and want a recognizable card tied to that account. It can also fit users who prefer a centralized app experience and do not mind completing KYC.

It is less suitable for people who want self-custody, flat worldwide fees or a simple reward that does not depend on plan rules. US users should also distinguish this prepaid card from the separately underwritten Visa Signature Credit Card.

What to Check Before Applying

Before applying, read the current tier page and card terms rather than relying on older reviews or historical reward rates. The value of the card can change materially depending on tier requirements, caps, supported regions and eligible purchases. If you only plan to use the card casually, compare the entry-level experience against simpler cards before optimizing for benefits that require a larger platform commitment.

Pros

  • Strong brand recognition and broad user familiarity.
  • Visa network acceptance.
  • Tiered rewards may be useful when existing account activity already meets the plan conditions.
  • Convenient for people already using the Crypto.com ecosystem.

Cons

  • KYC is required.
  • Custodial platform exposure is part of the product.
  • Rewards and perks can depend heavily on tier rules.
  • Top-up, issuance, FX, ATM and inactivity fees vary by market and tier.

Bottom Line

Crypto.com Prepaid Visa Card is a mature exchange-card program, but it is not one globally uniform product. The right comparison uses the regional fee table, current Level Up plan and the actual funding method.

For casual users, the top-up and foreign-transaction costs can matter more than rewards. Existing Crypto.com users may have a better fit when their current account activity already supports the intended tier.

Useful Defimap paths include the factual Crypto.com Visa Card profile, the separate Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card review, the crypto card fee guide, Bybit vs Crypto.com and Nexo vs Crypto.com.

Pros

  • Good: Broad regional footprint compared with many crypto cards
  • Good: Level Up rewards and benefits are published by tier
  • Good: Works well for existing Crypto.com users

Cons

  • Watch: Best benefits require CRO exposure
  • Watch: Custodial exchange model
  • Watch: Issuance, FX, ATM and top-up fees vary by market and tier

Bottom line

Crypto.com Visa Card belongs on the shortlist only if its fees, regions, funding flow and KYC rules match how you plan to spend. Check the provider page before moving funds.
